OUR SOCIETY IS MORE THAN 40 YEARS OLD, WE NOW COUNT 120 MEMBERS, PROFESSIONALS AND AMATEURS.

WE ARE WORKING IN ALL MEDIUMS, WATERCOLOUR, OIL, ACRYLIC AND PASTEL AND ARE EXPLORING ALL SUBJECTS, STILL LIFE, LANDSCAPE, WILDLIFE.

EVERY MONTH ARTISTS COME TO VISIT US AND SHOW THEIR SKILLS.

EVERY FORTNIGHT WE MEET  FOR WORKSHOPS.

Our society was founded by Marie Denne in 1965 for the people of Hythe, Kent. Starting in a small way with meetings in the Canon Newman Hall, it has continued to develop and expand in membership and activities.

An annual Summer exhibition in the Town Hall has continued ever since, while fortnightly meetings- alternate demonstrations and workshops- are now held in the spacious St John's ambulance hall. Demonstrations and workshops are now greatly enhanced by the acquisition of a video camera, projector and screen, thanks to a Lottery grant from the South East awards for all.

Each Spring and Autumn we have a visit to a couple of London galleries. In summer, indoor meetings are replaced by enjoyable outdoor painting days. Events are organised by the Committe and its Officers.
